You can browse feeds and collections, create your own items, follow people, browse marketplace listings and auctions, use supported listing and purchase controls, send encrypted messages, and manage wallet actions in one place. ::: ::: details What is an Ethscription? An Ethscription is a digital item created by putting its content directly into an Ethereum transaction. It can contain text, an image, a file, or interactive content. Its creation transaction becomes its permanent record and ID. Read [Ethscriptions](/concepts/ethscriptions) for a visual and technical overview. ::: ::: details Is an Ethscription an NFT? An Ethscription is a digital collectible on Ethereum, but it stores content and tracks ownership differently from token-based NFTs. floored calls these items Ethscriptions so the distinction remains clear. ::: ::: details Can I browse without a wallet? Yes. Select **Continue as guest** to browse public feeds, profiles, collections, activity, Ethscription details, listings, and auctions. You can also edit pixel art, save drafts on the current device, and use a guest Chat session when available. Connect and verify a wallet when you want to follow, like, comment, create, buy, sell, or transfer. ::: ::: details Why does floored ask me to verify after I connect? Connecting selects an address from your wallet. Verification asks you to sign a message to prove that you control it and creates your floored session. The verification signature does not move ETH or an Ethscription. Use the same active address for connection and verification. Actions that change Ethereum data still require separate transaction approval. ::: ## Creating ::: details What can I create? You can create plain text, Markdown, JSON, HTML, images, pixel art, and other supported files. You can send the new item to another address and add collection details when needed. See [Creator studio](/features/create). ::: ::: details What does Inscribe do? **Inscribe** asks your wallet to create the Ethscription through an Ethereum transaction. The transaction contains your content and charges an Ethereum network fee, called gas. Review the content, destination, file size, estimated fee, and wallet account before you approve it. ::: ::: details Why does file size matter? Ethereum charges gas partly based on the amount of data in a transaction. Smaller Ethscriptions usually cost less to create. Resizing an image or using effective compression can reduce the size and estimated fee. ::: ::: details What are the upload limits? Creator studio accepts images up to 10 MB for processing and other files up to 1 MB. The final encoded Ethscription, including collection information, must fit within 150 KB. A source image may need resizing or compression even when it fits the 10 MB input limit. ::: ::: details Does gzip always reduce the creation cost? No. Gzip is a type of file compression, but files that are already compressed may stay the same size or become larger. Creator studio estimates the savings before you inscribe. floored keeps the original when image compression makes an image larger. ::: ::: details Are drafts synced between devices? No. Drafts are stored only on the current device. Creator studio keeps up to six saved drafts using no more than 12 MB in total. Export or publish important work before you clear browser or app data. ::: ::: details Can I create a collection and its first item together? Yes. In the inscription options, select **Create New Collection**. Add the collection name, symbol, supply, description, appearance, links, and optional advanced settings. Then add the first item's name, number, description, and traits before you review the complete result. ::: ::: details My Ethscription exists, but its collection information failed. Did creation fail? Not necessarily. The Ethereum transaction can create the Ethscription before floored finishes adding or confirming its collection information. Select **View** or open the creation transaction to confirm the item exists. Do not submit the same creation again unless you have confirmed that the first transaction failed. ::: ## Ownership and Market ::: details Why does an item say In Escrow? A supported marketplace or auction contract is temporarily holding the item while a listing or auction is active. For floored Market, choose **Remove from escrow** to cancel any active listing and return the Ethscription in one transaction. If an auction holds it, return to the platform where you originally started the auction. floored does not identify that platform in the current Activity view, so do not connect your wallet through a guessed or unverified link. ::: ::: details Can I transfer an escrowed item? Not through the normal transfer control. For floored Market, choose **Remove from escrow** to cancel any active listing and return the item in one transaction. If it entered escrow recently, wait for the five-block cooldown first. If an auction holds the item, return to the platform where you originally started it. If you do not recognize the platform, do not connect your wallet through a guessed or unverified link. ::: ::: details What is a private listing? A private listing can be purchased only by the buyer address you enter. Compare the full address or the address resolved from an ENS name before you create the listing. ::: ::: details Why is a listing or purchase action unavailable? The action appears only when floored can confirm the current owner, listing, marketplace support, and your eligibility. Refresh the item if a recent transaction has not appeared yet. Some marketplaces show activity or listings in floored without supporting buying or selling in the app. ::: ::: details Can I sell through every marketplace shown in floored? No. You can see activity from every marketplace tracked by floored and browse listings from selected marketplaces. Some listings can be purchased in floored. Creating and managing fixed-price listings in the app is available only through floored Market. See the [marketplace support table](/features/market#what-each-marketplace-supports). ::: ::: details How do I withdraw floored Market proceeds? When proceeds are ready, floored shows a notice in the mobile or desktop navigation. Select the notice to start a withdrawal transaction. The ETH remains in the marketplace contract until that transaction confirms. ::: ::: details Can I start, bid on, or settle an auction in floored? No. floored shows auction cards with the current bid or reserve, the item and collection, and the remaining time or ended status. It does not provide controls to start an auction, place a bid, or settle an ended auction. If you use another interface, review its contract, amounts, and wallet requests independently. ::: ## Wallets and security ::: details Does floored store my external wallet private key? No. Your external wallet provider keeps its private key. floored receives the public address, signatures, and transaction results needed for actions you choose. ::: ::: details Where is the embedded wallet available? The embedded wallet is available in the native iOS app on a supported device with a passcode and device-owner authentication. It is not available as a production browser or Android wallet. ::: ::: details Can floored recover an embedded wallet after I delete it? No. Deleting the embedded wallet removes its private key from the device. If that address controls anything you need, export the private key and store it safely before deletion. ::: ::: details What is the difference between signing out and deleting an embedded wallet? Signing out disconnects floored and returns you to the sign-in screen. It does not move or delete ETH, Ethscriptions, an external wallet, or the embedded-wallet key. Deleting an embedded wallet removes its private key from the device. Without a safe exported copy, anything controlled by that address can become inaccessible. ::: ::: details Why does an embedded-wallet transaction show calldata? Calldata is extra data sent with an Ethereum transaction. Ethscriptions store their content in this data, and contracts use it to describe actions. The review shows the raw data and a readable contract action when floored recognizes one, so you can compare it before device authentication. ::: ## Chat and social features ::: details Is Chat encrypted? Yes. floored uses XMTP, an end-to-end encrypted messaging network. Encryption protects messages in transit, but it does not prove that a sender or link is trustworthy. ::: ::: details Why can I not message an address? The address must already be available on XMTP. A valid Ethereum address or ENS name does not guarantee that the recipient has an XMTP Chat identity. ::: ::: details What is a burner identity? A burner identity is a chat-only account stored on this device. It does not own your ETH or Ethscriptions. Selecting **Delete Burner** removes its private key and local Chat data from the current app account. ::: ::: details What is a holder chat? A holder chat is an encrypted group for a collection. Select the join control on the collection page to check whether your active address holds an eligible item. ::: ::: details What can the floored assistant do? When it is available, the automated floored assistant can answer questions, look up supported floored and blockchain data, receive an image, run slash commands, schedule temporary repeating checks, and prepare transactions for you to review. It cannot approve or execute a wallet transaction for you. See [floored assistant](/features/floored-assistant). ::: ::: details What is the Chat attachment limit? You can add one attachment to each message, up to 1 MB. Images show a preview, and other supported files show their name. On desktop, you can also drop a supported file into the conversation. ::: ::: details Are comments stored like normal app comments? floored stores comments and replies as public Ethscriptions using the TIC format. Adding a comment, replying, or deleting your own comment each requires a wallet-approved Ethereum transaction and gas. A direct link to a comment can open that discussion, but you cannot currently share an individual comment from its menu. ::: ## Data and API ::: details Does floored update in real time? Not always. Ethereum can confirm a transaction before floored updates its searchable copy of ownership, activity, comments, listings, search, or statistics. If a recent change is missing, wait a moment and refresh the page. ::: ::: details Who can create a developer API key? Verified Premium and Admin accounts can create developer keys in Settings. If an account loses eligibility, it can still view and revoke existing keys, but the keys cannot authenticate until eligibility returns. ::: ::: details Can I create several keys to increase my API limit? No. You can create multiple keys when eligible, but the request quota and rate limit are shared across all keys owned by the account. ::: ::: details Can the public API change floored data? No. The v1 public API is read-only. It does not create likes, follows, comments, bids, listings, group memberships, or administrative indexer actions. ::: ::: details What do API errors 401, 403, and 429 mean? `401` means the API key is missing, invalid, revoked, suspended, or currently ineligible. `403` means the key does not have the required permission. `429` means the account has reached its rate limit. Wait for the rate-limit window instead of switching among keys. :::
