# Use the floored assistant

The floored assistant is an automated participant in Chat. You can ask it to find Ethscriptions, summarize collection activity, look up Ethereum information, schedule a repeating check, or prepare supported transactions for your review.

The assistant is not a human support agent. Its data can be delayed, and a prepared transaction never executes until you review and approve it in your wallet.

## Start a conversation

1. Open **Chat**.
2. Select the chat-and-pencil button, or **Start one** when your message list is empty.
3. Select an available bot shortcut, such as **floored Bot**.
4. Ask a question in ordinary language, or type `/` to see the commands available now.

If no assistant shortcut appears, the assistant is unavailable right now. Ordinary XMTP conversations can still work.

## Try a natural-language request

You can ask questions such as:

* “Show me recent activity for this collection.”
* “What is the current Ethereum gas price?”
* “Find Ethscriptions related to pixel art.”
* “Show the collections owned by this address.”
* “Check this collection every 10 minutes for the next hour.”

Include a collection name, address, or Ethscription hash when it helps identify what you mean. Verify important market, ownership, and transaction information on the relevant floored page or Ethereum explorer.

## Use slash commands

Type `/` at the beginning of a message to browse the commands the assistant currently offers.

| Goal | Commands |
|---|---|
| Explore collections and activity | `/floor <collection>`, `/collection <slug>`, `/top [period]`, `/sales <collection>`, `/feed [address]`, `/traits <collection>` |
| Find an Ethscription | `/search <query>`, `/ethscription <hash>`, `/image <name or hash>` |
| Check Ethereum information | `/balance [address]`, `/gas`, `/ens <name or address>`, `/price` |
| Review a profile or wallet | `/profile [address]`, `/activity [address]`, `/wallet [address]` |
| Prepare supported creation | `/mint <content>` |
| Manage tasks and groups | `/tasks`, `/cancel <task-id>`, `/groups`, `/leave` |
| See help | `/help` |

`/leave` works only inside a group. When an address is optional, the assistant can use your sending address. Commands can disappear when a tool is unavailable.

Use the arrow keys to move through command suggestions, Tab or Enter to choose one, and Escape to close the list.

## Schedule a repeating task

Ask the assistant to repeat a supported check and include the interval and duration.

Current limits are:

* At least 1 minute between checks
* Up to 24 hours total duration
* Up to 5 active tasks per person

Use `/tasks` to list your active tasks. Use `/cancel <task-id>` to stop one. A task expires when its duration ends and can stop early if the underlying information source is unavailable.

## Send or receive an image

You can attach one supported image up to 1 MB. Some assistant tools can also return a generated or retrieved image.

Review the attachment preview before sending. Remove it if you selected the wrong file.

## Review a prepared transaction

Some requests can ask your wallet to send ETH or interact with a contract. A response may contain one request or several separate requests. The assistant does not execute them automatically.

1. Confirm that the request names your active wallet.
2. Review every destination, ETH amount, Ethereum network, described action, transaction details, and fee.
3. Approve each request separately only if it matches what you asked for.
4. Wait for the completed state, then choose **View Transaction** to inspect the confirmed transaction in the block explorer.

Reject an unexpected or unclear request, even inside an encrypted conversation.

## If the assistant is unavailable

* If no shortcut appears, try again later or use ordinary Chat.
* If typing `/` shows no commands, reconnect Chat and retry later.
* If an answer looks old, verify the collection, address, or transaction on its floored detail page or in an Ethereum explorer.
* If a task stops, use `/tasks` to see whether it expired, was cancelled, or reported an error.
