# Profiles and social

A profile connects an Ethereum address with its public collectibles, market activity, social activity, comments, follows, and messaging availability.

## Before you start

* Guests can view public profiles, collectibles, activity, follows, and comments.
* A verified wallet is required to follow, like, comment, or use account-only controls.
* Direct messages require a connected XMTP Chat identity for both participants.
* Comments, replies, and deletes are Ethereum transactions. They require wallet approval and gas.

## Find a profile

Use any of these paths:

1. Open Search from **Home**, enter a name, complete Ethereum address, or ENS name, then select the result under **Users**.
2. Select an avatar or address in Home, Activity, Holders, Inbox, or a comment thread.
3. Select **Profile** in the navigation to open your own account.

The profile summary shows the ENS name or address, avatar when available, follower information, and public sections.

## Browse profile sections

Choose a section below the profile summary:

| Section | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Collectibles | Collection groups and items currently owned or held in supported marketplace escrow |
| Market | Listings associated with the profile or marketplace context |
| Activity | Creation, transfer, sale, listing, bid, auction, comment, and escrow events |
| Comments | Discussion attached to the profile |

Use the clock control beside the section tabs to open the profile's social **Feed**. On a narrow screen, scroll the section tabs horizontally to reach a hidden label.

## Follow or unfollow a profile

1. Open someone else's profile.
2. Select **Follow** or **Follow back**.
3. Return to **Home > Following** to see future matching activity.

The button changes to **Following** when the follow is active. To stop following, select **Following**, then confirm **Unfollow**.

Guests see a sign-in explanation instead of a follow change. Verify your wallet and try again if the button does not become **Following**.

## View followers and following

1. Select the follower or following count in the profile summary.
2. Use the search field to find a person in the list.
3. Select a result to open that profile.

The list indicates when an account also follows you. Paired avatars can represent grouped or related addresses.

## Like supported content

1. Select the heart on a supported Ethscription, comment, profile, or collection.
2. Verify your wallet if prompted.

A filled heart means your like is active. Select it again to unlike. Select a non-zero like count to open the liked-by list, then select a person to open their profile.

Guest like controls are disabled.

## Add a profile comment

1. Open the profile's **Comments** section.
2. Enter text in **Leave a comment**.
3. Select **Add comment**.
4. Review and approve the wallet transaction and gas.
5. Wait for **Transaction complete**.

The comment appears after Ethereum confirms and floored processes it. To reply, select **reply**, enter the response, select **Add comment**, and approve another wallet transaction.

To delete your own comment, select **delete** and approve the deletion transaction. The thread keeps a `[deleted]` marker so replies retain their context. You cannot currently share an individual comment from its menu.

## Share a profile

1. Open the profile.
2. Select the share icon in the profile actions.
3. Choose **Copy link**, X, Telegram, or an available system share option.
4. Look for **Link copied to clipboard** when using Copy link.

The resulting public link opens the profile. See [Sharing and app links](/features/sharing-links) for platform behavior.

## Copy or display a wallet address

1. Open the profile actions.
2. Select the copy-address control.
3. In **Wallet Address**, scan the QR code or select **Copy Address**.
4. Compare the readable address before using it in a transaction.

The copy confirmation indicates that the address is on the clipboard. A QR code is only another representation of the address. It does not prove who controls it.

## Start a direct message

1. Open someone else's profile.
2. Select **Message** when it is available.
3. If Chat is disconnected, complete **Create Account** or **Sign in to XMTP**.
4. Wait for floored to return to the intended conversation.
5. Enter and send your message.

The conversation appearing in **Chat > Messages** confirms that it was created. Message is absent when the profile is not available on XMTP. See [Chat](/features/chat) for requests, attachments, groups, and blocking.

## Review your own account controls

On your own profile, the account actions can include:

* The wallet menu for an embedded wallet
* Settings
* Sign out
* Share and copy-address controls

## If something is missing

* **Follow, like, or comment is unavailable:** Verify your wallet.
* **Message is unavailable:** The other address is not available on XMTP, or Chat is not ready.
* **Market controls are absent:** Open the item detail and review its ownership and marketplace state.
* **A confirmed change has not appeared:** Pull down to refresh and allow time for floored to process the Ethereum event.

See [Wallets](/features/wallets), [Chat](/features/chat), or [Troubleshooting](/troubleshooting) for the related recovery steps.
