# Search and discovery

Use Search when you know part of a name, an Ethereum address, an ENS name, or an Ethscription transaction hash. Use collection and user lists when you want to browse without a specific target.

## Before you start

Search and public discovery are available to guests. A verified wallet is required only when you use a write action such as Follow from a result.

## Search from Home

1. Open **Home**.
2. Select the magnifying-glass icon in the upper-right corner.
3. Enter at least two characters.
4. Wait for results to appear as you type.
5. Select a result to open it.

Results are grouped into:

* **Users**, including exact Ethereum addresses and resolved ENS names
* **Collections**
* **Marketplaces**
* **Ethscriptions**

Selecting a user opens their profile. Selecting a collection opens its collection page. Selecting a marketplace opens its profile or listings context. Selecting an Ethscription opens its detail page.

Clear the search field to remove the results. Search does not change the filters on Home, Market, or Collections.

## Search with an address or ENS name

1. Open Search from Home.
2. Paste a complete `0x` Ethereum address or enter an ENS name such as `name.eth`.
3. Select the matching user result.

An exact valid address can open a public profile even when it has not appeared in a previous search. If an ENS name does not resolve, confirm its spelling and try again while online.

## Find an Ethscription by transaction hash

1. Copy the complete Ethereum transaction hash for the Ethscription.
2. Open Search from Home.
3. Paste the hash.
4. Select the result under **Ethscriptions**.

The detail page and matching creation transaction hash confirm that you opened the intended Ethscription.

## Browse collections

Open **Collections** from a discovery link or the desktop sidebar. You can sort the directory by:

* Volume
* Sales
* Holder change
* Newest

When a ranking uses activity, choose the available time period before comparing rows. Select a collection to open its items, holders, activity, market, comments, and statistics.

## Browse top collections and users

Home and desktop sidebars can show new collections, top collections, and active users. On mobile, these lists appear as horizontal sections when data is available.

Top Users can rank creators, buyers, sellers, collectors, likers, or commenters for the selected period. Select a person to open their profile. Verified accounts can follow from the available Follow control.

These lists summarize public activity. They are not personalized investment recommendations.

## Find auctions

1. Open **Market**.
2. Choose **Auctions**.
3. Use the collection, trait, or content-type filters to narrow the list.

floored currently supports auction browsing only. It does not provide controls to start an auction, place a bid, or settle one on any page.

## If no results appear

* Enter at least two characters.
* Try the complete Ethereum address, ENS name, or transaction hash.
* Check spelling and remove unnecessary punctuation.
* Use a shorter collection or profile name.
* Clear the search field and try again.
* Confirm that you are online if address resolution or results stop loading.

Some results depend on processed public data and can appear after the underlying Ethereum transaction confirms. See [Troubleshooting](/troubleshooting) if Search repeatedly fails to load.

## Filters on other pages

Search is separate from page filters. Home filters activity, Recent filters Ethscriptions, Market filters listings or auctions, Inbox filters notification categories, and Collections changes its ranking. Resetting one page does not reset the others.
