Troubleshooting
Find your symptom below. Before you retry a wallet action, confirm that floored and your wallet show the same address and that the wallet is using Ethereum. Never repeat a purchase, transfer, or creation until you know the first transaction failed.
I connected a wallet but still have guest access
- Open the verification notice from your profile.
- Confirm that floored and your wallet show the same address.
- Sign the verification message in your wallet.
- Return to floored and wait for the verified profile to load.
Connecting selects your wallet address. Verification proves that you control it and creates your floored session. The verification signature does not move assets.
See Connect and manage a wallet for the complete sign-in flow.
An ENS name will not resolve
- Enter the complete ENS name.
- Confirm that your device is online.
- Retry once.
- If it still fails, use the full
0xEthereum address.
Before a transfer or private listing, compare the resolved address with the destination you expect.
A transaction is stuck on Check wallet
- Open the connected wallet and look for a pending request.
- Confirm that its account and Ethereum network match floored.
- Approve it only if the destination, ETH amount, action, and estimated fee are correct.
- If no request appears, reject or close the action in floored before you retry once.
My wallet rejected or cancelled the action
A rejected wallet prompt does not submit the transaction. Return to floored, confirm the account and action, then start again only if you still intend to complete it. If your wallet shows a submitted transaction hash, check that transaction before retrying.
Ethereum confirmed, but floored still shows Pending
- Open the transaction link in Etherscan.
- Confirm that it succeeded.
- Wait a moment for floored to update its searchable blockchain data.
- Pull to refresh or reopen the detail page.
Do not submit the action again while the first transaction is confirmed and floored is still updating.
My new Ethscription exists, but its collection information is pending
The Ethereum transaction can create the Ethscription before floored finishes adding or confirming its collection information.
- Select View or open the creation transaction.
- Confirm that the Ethscription exists.
- Wait for the collection information to update.
Do not create the same item again unless you have confirmed that the original Ethereum transaction failed.
A file will not upload or an image will not process
Check each limit:
- Images must be 10 MB or smaller before processing.
- Other files must be 1 MB or smaller.
- The final encoded Ethscription, including collection information, must be 150 KB or smaller.
If the file still does not fit:
- Reduce the image dimensions or choose a smaller format.
- Remove or simplify collection information.
- Try compression when the file type can benefit from it.
- Turn compression off if it repeatedly makes the file larger.
A draft will not save
Drafts are stored on the current device. Creator studio allows up to six saved drafts using no more than 12 MB in total.
Delete an older draft or reduce the current draft size, then try again. Browser privacy settings can also prevent local storage. Important drafts are not cloud backups, so export or publish work before clearing browser or app data.
See Creator studio for upload limits, image editing, and draft management.
I cannot list or transfer an item
- Confirm that the connected address currently owns the item.
- Refresh the item if ownership changed recently.
- If floored Market holds the item, choose Remove from escrow. This cancels any active listing and returns the item in one transaction.
- If an auction holds the item, return to the platform where you originally started it and resolve it there. floored provides auction browsing only and does not identify that platform in the current Activity view. If you do not recognize it, do not connect your wallet through a guessed or unverified link.
- If the item belongs to another marketplace, check whether that marketplace supports the action in floored.
Some marketplaces show activity or listings without supporting selling. Creating and managing fixed-price listings in the app uses floored Market.
After an item enters floored Market escrow, buying or removing it can fail until five Ethereum blocks have passed. Wait for the cooldown, refresh the item, and try once more.
See Market listings for escrow steps or Transfer Ethscriptions for the transfer workflow.
An auction bid or status looks outdated
Refresh the auction card, then compare its bid or reserve and time with the platform where you originally found or started the auction before acting there. floored does not let you start, bid on, or settle an auction, and it does not identify that platform in the current Activity view. If you do not recognize it, do not connect your wallet through a guessed or unverified link.
See Browse auctions for exactly what each auction card shows.
Chat will not connect
- Check the account label at the top of Chat.
- Confirm that it is the identity you intend to use.
- If prompted, select Create Account or Sign in to XMTP and complete the wallet signature.
- Wait for the status to show Connected before you start a conversation.
Offline or Reconnecting usually means the network was interrupted. Confirm that your device is online, then retry.
I cannot add a Chat recipient
The address must be valid and already available on XMTP, the encrypted network floored uses for Chat. A valid Ethereum address or ENS name does not guarantee that the recipient has an XMTP identity.
Confirm the address. If it is correct but remains unavailable, ask the recipient to create or connect their XMTP Chat account first.
A Chat attachment will not send or open
You can add one attachment to a message, up to 1 MB. Remove the current file and retry with a smaller supported file.
If a received attachment does not open, reconnect Chat and try again. The attachment download or decryption can fail even when its text message loaded correctly.
The floored assistant or slash commands are unavailable
If no bot shortcut appears, the floored assistant is unavailable in your current version. If typing / shows no commands, reconnect Chat and try again later.
Select /tasks to check a repeating task. A missing task may have expired or been cancelled. If a task stopped with an error, its notification explains the failure.
See Message people and groups or Use the floored assistant for the complete controls.
Push notifications do not arrive
- Open Settings in floored and turn on Push notifications.
- Open your browser or operating system notification settings and allow floored.
- Confirm that the device is online.
- Reopen floored so it can register the device again.
Notification support differs between browsers and native devices.
See Settings for the notification controls.
An HTML Ethscription is blank or blocked
HTML Ethscriptions contain webpages created by users. floored restricts some scripts, external resources, permissions, and browser features for safety, so some content may not run.
You can still copy the creation transaction hash or open it in an Ethereum block explorer. Never enter a password, seed phrase, recovery phrase, private key, or payment information into an Ethscription.
The installed web app says Update available
Save any unsent message or unfinished creator work first. Select Update to install the waiting version and reload floored. Select Later to keep using the current version for now.
An API request returns 401, 403, or 429
401: Send the raw key inX-API-Key. A missing, invalid, revoked, suspended, or currently ineligible key cannot authenticate. Replace and revoke a key that may have been exposed.403: The key does not have permission for that operation.429: Stop retrying and wait for the rate-limit window. Creating or switching keys does not increase the account's quota.
See Public API for authentication, limits, and error responses.
Record useful details before reporting a problem
Include:
- The floored version shown in Settings
- Your device, platform, and operating system version
- The page or feature you were using
- A public transaction hash or Ethscription creation hash, when relevant
- The exact error message
- Whether refreshing changed the result
Never include a private key, seed phrase, recovery phrase, API key, authentication token, or private Chat content.
